Postdoctoral Fellow

I studied chemistry and biology and I rapidly became fascinated by bacteria and how quickly they adapt to their environment. I am highly interested in bacterial metal homeostasis and how this affects bacterial physiology and its ability to survive in various environments.

My actual research will help us to better understand microbial adaptation in the presence of a bacterial competitor, the interaction of the host immune system with the innate microbiome or the pathogen and all the links between microbiome, immune system and pathogen. As model pathogen/organism we use Salmonella enterica enterica serovar Typhimurium.
