I am interested in how bacteria fight each other, the evolution of these behaviours and how we can apply them to pressing issues such as antimicrobial resistance.
My research focuses on evolving potent toxin producers via bacterial competition. To achieve this, I use traditional microbiology methods and microfluidics in collaboration with Dirk Aarts in the Department of Chemistry.
